Lockdowns and ongoing restrictions saw the DRG focusing on strengthening local networks to address community issues.
During 2021 the DRG become a member of:
· Docklands Agency Collective: organised by Docklands Pop-Up Neighbourhood House, this group brings together members of support agencies operating in Docklands to share resources and identify opportunities to work together;
· Docklands Security Committee: convened by Victoria Police, this forum shares information on initiatives and opportunities to improve security resilience across the Docklands;
· Family and Children’s Advisory Committee: brings together people with broad and diverse knowledge and experience of issues relating to families and children (from birth to 12 years).
· Melbourne Resident Group/Panel: hosted by the Lord Mayor, these sessions bring together volunteer community groups from throughout the City of Melbourne to provide feedback to officers and Councillors on Council matters and to raise resident priorities;
Marvel Stadium Upgrade Webinar
The close of 2021 also saw the DRG host the long awaited Marvel Stadium Upgrade forum. Starting with a word from our local state member, Ellen Sandell MP, the webinar saw the AFL present their redevelopment plans, which included information about placemaking (Village Well), design (Grimshaw and Smatform) and project delivery (John Holland).
